Walmart has a ton of Mother’s Day gifts perfect for …
It’s a magical time of year, and Disney knows how to do it right. Seeing Sleeping Beauty’s Castle dressed up in garland and lights is pretty special. This magical and immersive walk-through at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas returns in 2023. It features almost a 1-mile immersive walking trail with lights and holiday scenes like Gingerbread Lane, Elf’s Village, and even the North Pole. This wonderful, illuminated journey takes you through bright, sparkling tunnels, colorful fountains, and creative light displays.

The on-foot spiritual successor to the old nearby DWP Holiday Lights, most of the displays here are inspired by the zoo’s wild residents (elephants, parrots and otters, among them). That’s especially the case with the current “Animals Aglow” theme, which doubles down on oversized, animated animal lanterns—to delightfully charming effect. Then I really began missing all of those just things. A year later, we will live an hour away from the empty lot that once cradled our house. It took a few months for the new house to become ours.
SoCal’s most overlooked weekend escape is a place you’ve probably driven past
One year, the family had a very special visitor arrive outside their home. “He’ll be out here decorating, and they’ll be like, ‘All right, it’s time for the Dodgers house,’” Kelly added. My mission is to inspire and help you plan your future Tasty Itinerary with our cruise and travel tips and guides. Some of us go on morning hikes, eat Chinese food for dinner, and then hit the cinemas for the latest blockbuster premiering on Christmas Eve (this is our favorite way to spend it). Don’t forget to stay for the magical light show at Hogwarts Castle. The lighting ceremony for Christmas Tree Lane and the winter festival for 2023 is on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
In the United States, a home fire was reported every 88 seconds in 2022, according to the National Fire Protection Association. The financial outcome of the fire is contingent on if you were a homeowner or a renter (we were the latter). Your insurance payment also depends on the amount of coverage you had, the cost of the personal items lost, and the deductible. Unfortunately, the process isn’t always so straightforward or timely, insurance companies are slow to pay or a mortgage lender buries homeowners in red tape.
It’s another Christmas with the Mitchell family, so you know it’s going to be eventful. We spend it at home with our families eating tamales or preparing our favorite traditional holiday meal, then drive around at night to see the Christmas lights in our neighborhood. Surrounded by evergreens, you’ll find Santa’s Workshop, and you can drop off your Christmas list at Santa’s post office. Go ice skating, hop on a train ride, wander through their magical Fantasy Forest, or enjoy their Village of lights at night. There are other outdoor activities to be enjoyed that are also open all year round.

You want to see the holiday movie with Treat Williams and Sharon Lawrence as the parents. The Abadie Family’s original Dodger-themed decorations start going up in early November. The family says everything takes about two weeks to install. Just like baseball, it’s a team effort, with the entire family chipping in to bring their Dodger Christmas dreams to life. At the start of each month, get a roundup of upcoming plant-related activities and events in Southern California, along with links to tips and articles you may have missed.

The visual of Treat Williams, a bona fide movie star with cross-generational appeal, cutting up with his gay son aired in the morning, afternoon, evening, and night. The holidays are only getting more stressful for the queer community, but Hallmark holiday movies aren’t supposed to present real life as it is. They’re supposed to present life as we wish it was, and Treat Williams was the father we all wish we had. The holidays are a great time to visit Universal Studios. The theme park is decorated for Christmas, including a huge Grinchmas tree where they have a nightly lighting ceremony.
Mike and Andi are a charming pair, and watching their lifelong love story unfold via Rashomon style flashbacks had me fully invested in the straights. And, oh my god, the entire storyline with the parents had me in genuine suspense—to a degree that I have absolutely never felt while watching a Hallmark movie. The movie is a delight through and through, and—as if that’s not enough—it’s one that will actually change the world for the better.
It’s a not-miss holiday event in Southern California. The Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade celebrates Christmas in Los Angeles on one night during the season. Then enjoy boats and yachts parade through the Marina’s main channel decked out in garlands, colorful lights, and Christmas displays. If there is any time of year that Hollywood is sparkling with magic -outside of Academy Award night- it’s Christmas time.
Just like last year, The Christmas House 2 will give you all the Christmas funnies and Christmas feels you need. If you want to feel like you’re visiting Santa at the Northpole (without all the snow), plan a day trip to Santa’s Village in Lake Arrowhead. This adventure theme park is 1 hour & 30 mins from Los Angeles or more, depending on where you are in the county.
To see Brandon and Jake sit on the couch, arms entwined while Mama Mitchell runs through an elaborate CG game plan of how they’re going to decorate their house? As the film’s patriarch, Treat Williams brought so much to the role of Bill Mitchell. He played a father figure who loved his sons — straight and gay — and was equally invested in each of their happiness. If that front porch kiss was tame-yet-brave, so was the way Williams played Bill. It cannot be overstated how much gay men needed to see a father like Bill Mitchell, one who did not balk at seeing his son being affectionate with another man, one who treated his son-in-law with respect.
I have to admit that I went into The Christmas House expecting much, much less than what it ultimately delivered. This isn’t the first Hallmark movie with gay characters this year; that honor probably goes to Christmas with the Darlings, although I haven’t watched all of the 127 Hallmark movies that have aired over the past 3 weeks. But still, that film (along with another coming out soon) features gay characters in supporting roles.
